The Untraditional Doctor

Dr. Kevin Luo, a Taiwanese acupuncturist, comes out of the traditional Taiwanese shell to shed light on Chinese calligraphy in Austin, TX through various mediums. His open-mindedness is carried through the plethora of activities he involves himself within the community. From combining Taiwanese and Western culture in his paintings, to performing with Taiko drums, to volunteering at special education schools, Dr. Kevin Luo is a nod to hybridity and how identity isn’t just based on outer appearance, but a combination of what you involve yourself in.
